Days 41-42 Vladivostok

My last days on Vladivostok.

Tuesday I had to buy myself a hoodie. It was way too cold to walk around in only one shirt over the t-shirt. I also bought a lock to use in hostels. I don't want to carry all my stuff around.

In the evening I also met my dear friends again for a long time. Marius and Janine had arrived to Vladivostok by train on Sunday and now they got their bikes from the cargo terminal. It was so nice to see them again. It felt so nice to have team back together for a while.

But Wednesday was the day of packing the container. Yuri picked us up at the hostel and we drove to take Heinrich and Anna's car to the car wash. To keep it clean it had to be transported by truck to the loading site of the container. Annie went in a van.

But at the loading site we faced a huge problem. The container was dirty inside and it's roof was bent. The shipping company had only this one container and they couldn't guarantee it's safety. We had to change the shipping company. I'm very glad Yuri really knows what he's doing so in a while we had the car back on a truck and we headed to another container yard. I have to admit we had some trouble when fitting everything in. We removed the spare wheels from the back, which wasn't a hard task. But removing and securing the front bumber was a bit harder job. Finally we managed to fit everything in and to secure the car and the bike.

It really felt weird. It was weird feeling when I left the bike to the train station in Ulan-Ude but this is whole different thing. It's in the container sailing the seas for 6 weeks! It feels like forever. So far I've traveled for six weeks. I have plenty of time to bagpack in south east Asia.

In the evening we had a great dinner to celebrate my last and Heinrich and Anna's almost last evening in Russia. They will fly to Vietnam on Friday to cycle around Vietnam for a couple of weeks. We will meet in Melbourne in the end of November. The container should arrive sometime in the beginning of December.

The most important lesson I've learned so far on this trip
