Days 51-53 Bangkok

I had to start Friday by packing. As I changed my plans and didn't go to Pattaya as I originally planned I had to change hotel. I had booked another, a bit cheaper hotel few kilometers further alongside a subway line. So after breakfast I packed my bag pack and started walking towards the subway station. The problem was that I had no idea how the system worked and as I was tired from having messed up stomach at previous night I wasn't in the mood to study. So I took my chances and took a scooter taxi. Well, that was for sure an adventure. The guy drove like 60-80 km/hwith that quite small "motorcycle". The traffic is quite hectic and of course I had no gear. No jacket, protective trousers or even helmet. At some point we drove wrong way on a highway. The driver had to ask for directions at least four times and call to the hotel twice. I wouldn't call that very professional. And I had shown him the place in the map. Bangkok is noisy, dirty and crowded. Not a place for me at all. I started my Wednesday with quite a late breakfast in the hotel. As a matter of fact I realized the room included breakfast just in the morning. Good for me as I was just about to leave somewhere to find something to eat. After finishing my breakfast I had to enjoy a moment of air-conditioning. I planned to go to the zoo, but thought it might be too hot. The animals don't move much in the heat. But I have plenty of time to visit the zoo as I altered my plans. Originally my plan was to take a bus to Pattaya on Friday and continue to Cambodia on next Monday. Then slowly towards Vietnam. But as I realized South-East Asia isn't my place to be, I decided to book cheap flight to Finland departing next week. So I'll stay in Bangkok for another week. I'll be home for 2-3 weeks and fly to Malaysia around 20th of November. Sometime during the day I decided to go for a walk. In one corner a tuktuk-driver started

Days 46-48 Tokyo - Bangkok

Sunday was the laziest day in a while. It rained and they even had given a typhoon warning to Tokyo. My original plan was to go to Shinjuku, which is said to be the busiest shopping area in Tokyo. But the ticket office guy said it is possible that some of the trains will be cancelled due the typhoon. So I decided to stay near the hostel. I took a walk in a park nearby but got way too wet. It rained rally hard and it was windy so that umbrella didn't help much. The rest of the day I spent mostly looking at movies and chatting with the guy in the reception. He will start working at Yamaha soon as a salesman. Good job but wrong brand. Monday opened up sunny. Very sunny and warm. I would describe the weather perfect. About 18 degrees and light wind. How about the typhoon? I didn't even notice it during the night. I took a Tokyo Metro to Shinjuku. I could have gone there with train and it would have been a little cheaper but I wanted to try the subway. Well, it didn'
