Days 32-33 Vladivostok

I'm a bit stuck here in Vladivostok. But I don't mind. I like the city and it's people.

"Lazing on a Sunday afternoon." Or the whole day. Guys slept still when I went to have some breakfast/lunch at the local Hesburger. Yes, here really is a Hesburger - actually a couple of them. And Burger King and KFC. Probably also McDonald's but I haven't seen it yet.

The meal was... A huge disappointment. The mayonnaise was like it was supposed to be. But the stake and the bun were something under the level. After I got back to the hostel I just had to give feedback to Hesburger headquarters about the thing. And later on I even got an answer where they were very thankful for my feedback and promised to put things in order. That really made me feel good.

Most of the day I spend reading and chatting with some other guests at the hostel. A hiker from Habarovsk and Joseph etc. I went to Burger King with Mirco and in the evening had great dinner in a Georgian restaurant. Such a nice and relaxing day.

Monday 9th of October was the day our bikes finally were ready to be picked up at the railway station. Or at least they were out of the train. Still in the crates. Fortunately it didn't take long until we got the bikes out and started packing our gear on. Annie was OK. Mirco and Eddie had lost plate lights from their bikes. Something had hit them.

While packing a motorcycle passed us and in no while a guy called Kirill appeared to ask if we needed any help. We had planned to take visit to one of the most famous motorcycle clubs in Vladivostok - The Iron Tigers. But Kirill had a better plan. He would take us the Biker post of Brotherhood of the East. But first we had to eat and have some sightseeing. We got the Eagle's Nest (the viewpoint above the Golden Bridge) and then we drove to Russian Island which is the southernmost tip of Vladivostok peninsula. Without Kirill we would have never found that place. Probably we would have driven to the end of the road and wondered what's the idea of the island. Russian Island is a former military base but now there's a university and outdoor areas. We took a small gravel road, then even smaller until finally we had to leave the bikes behind and walk a few kilometers. And it definitely was worth it! The cliffs were unbelievable!!! I have no words to describe them so I'll just insert the photos for you to look by yourself. And the photos won't do any justice... Mirco and Kirill even jumped to the water from the cliff. Crazy!!!

After the hike at Russian Island we drove to the clubhouse of Brotherhood of the East. It's not an MC. It's more like a community that helps biker travelers. Me met the President of the club - Edward. What a nice man. Every time I meet a new Russian (especially a biker) I'm surprised how friendly, nice and helpful nation the Russians are. I could have never imagined such an amount of hospitality and help I have received so far. It's beyond imagination!!!

I will stay in the clubhouse until Monday the 16th when my bike goes to a container. But that's a different story that will be told separately...
