Days 137 - 140 Toronto (- Guyra) - Toronto - Sydney - Los Angeles

Sunday was unbelievably hard day. We started in the morning with Duncan to get the bike from Guyra. It was hit already then! And it got worse during the day. A lot worse! In that heat air conditioning would have been great. In addition to physical hardness the day was mentally hard as seeing the bike brought back the situation I fell. Let's see what it feels when I get on a bike again.

John from Guyra Towing gave to give us the bike. Together we lifted it on the trailer and secured (yes, with ropes) it. We were extremely lucky that Annie was short enough to fit in without removing front wheel. And of we went to Toronto with no other trouble than the heat.

Ivan from Bikes Abroad has a deal with a company called Pro Bike in Sydney. They pack customer's bikes in old BMW crates and deliver the bikes to the airport or harbour depending on the situation.

At Pro Bike I faced bad customer service for the first time in Australia. Those guys really made it clear that old bikes are of no value. It was obvious that bikes are only way of making money for them. They are not bikers. That kind of disrespectful behaviour towards a customes who has lost his bike shows a level of unprofessionality and stupidity. I strongly suggest that nobody uses that place's services ever if there's any other option available.

I was in a really bad mood until I got to Jonathan's place. After the hard sunday and poor customer experience on Monday I felt very tired. I spent most of the day watching movies. Jonathan really saved my day by cooking me dinner. And what kind of a dinner was it? Kangaroo! It was delicious! Superb! I have no words!

I have successfully managed to avoid buying souvenirs. I bought s couple of CD's for twins from Bangkok. I've also skipped sending postcards. No I did both. I bought something for the kids (let it be surprise) and sent a postcard jointly to the kids. That was mainly my Tuesday. Apart from those I walked in the city and just looked around.

As I try to travel on a low budget I had booked the cheapest available flights from Sydney to Los Angeles. That made my Wednesday a proper traveling day. First a train from the city to airport. A flight from Sydney to Guangzhou, China (9h + delays = 11h). Delay ment my layover time was at least reasonable 3 hours. Then another flight from Guangzhou to Los Angeles about 13 hours. So I traveled more than 25 hours. I really didn't have a power to take public transportation to the hostel. Airport shuttle would have been $95 (legal robbery) but normal taxi was $60 (including tip).

After settling in the hostel I walked to eat a burrito (made by real mexicans) and it was time to call it a night.
