Heceventure

I've been surprised how much I like Kuala Lumpur.  Of course it's a big city. One of the biggest ones in the world.  But still it doesn't feel that big. It's hot and moist. There has been some rain in both afternoons but... Who cares when it's as warm as it is here. The rain cools the weather a bit and makes it nicer. The Malaysian people (Malay, I think) are extremely friendly and helpful. Several times when I've been a bit lost a local has come to ask if I needed help. And today I was sitting on the bench when a local guy came and started a conversation.  He suggested that I should come here again and rent a motorcycle.  Drive north the west coast and come back the east coast. The more I think about it the better it sounds.  Maybe one day. But in sum, I like Malaysia much better than Thailand. I visited Petronas Towers (of course) and a planetarium and Kuala Lumpur Tower for some sightseeing. Other than that I've been mainly walking around the city.  ...

The last days in Finland didn't include much worth writing. Chilling, some hiking in the forest etc. Tuesday I packed my gear and headed to the airport. My mother and aunt drove me there. Actually I drove there myself and they just sat in the car and drove back home. Quite near Helsinki I got a little worried as the traffic announcement sign told about a collision on our route. A trailer of a truck had fallen and one of the busiest roads got stuck. I was at the airport early enough but it messed up my mind so much that I forgot to pick up the dollars I had ordered. The flight was okay. A couple originally from Joensuu sat next to me and we had very nice conversations about traveling and I got a lot of hints to New Zealand. Thanks Anna! After landing in Krabi, Thailand in the morning I had plenty of time to wait for the next flight to Kuala Lumpur. I ate something and drank a lot of water. The coldness hit me instantly after arriving to Finland. Rain, coldness, snow occasionally felt terrible right away. Even though I'm not such a big fan of heat I found Bangkok a better place when considering the weather. It's some sort of miracle how quickly one can adapt to the heat and how slow it can be to the other direction. My plans got a little twisted a couple of days ago. My original plan was to arrive in Melbourne the next morning the container arrives i.e. November 29th. But unfortunately the shipping company delayed the container for a week. (and even for a second week but luckily Heinrich managed to organize that.) So the container arrives in Melbourne in December 5th. Heinrich and Anna postponed their flights from Vietnam until December 10th. I didn't want to pay for altering the flights so I decided to go to New Zealand. I'll arrive in Melbourne very early in the morning and depart to Christchurch at midnight. After landing in NZ I'll get a rental...

The beginning of my week felt warm. Mostly I spent my time wondering around Bangkok. As on Saturday I found out how to use the subway system I had plenty of Shopping malls to visit. Actually I didn't want to buy anything. I just wanted to wonder around the places and see how those places looked like. I sat in cafés and watched people walking by. I have to say that the Thais really know how to make the buildings look fancy and expensive. Glass walls and high open spaces. On Thursday morning it was time to say goodbye to Bangkok and traveling for a while. As I mentioned earlier I decided to take some time and visit home. I woke up at 3:30, packed the rest of my stuff and hopped into a taxi that drove me to the airport. I managed to get my back bag into plane and off I went.
